ATP Show Ep_004 “Into the Lair… (of our minds!)”

In this episode of awesomeness, I present the first show I am actually satisfied with. It might not have my review on the end, but stick it out, listen all the way through for our awesome discussion of how a game should be reviewed, current gaming commercials, and strategy games. There are a few goodies along the way, just be sure to email us and let us know your thoughts. As always, have a great week, and thanks for listening!

  1. Please try to keep the Kbps consistent. 163.8 Kbps is really high

  2. Wati…. how come on windows media player the show shows up to only be 35:11 minutes long?

  3. first off, thanks for the comments and the email.

um, in wmp (I’m guessing yours isn’t wmp 11?), there is an issue i have been having at work with it. it NEVER shows the actual time of a file. EVER! i blame that on wmp, the fact that it is a variable bit rate file, and Microsoft. LOL, sorry man.

as per the kbps of the file, i actually listen to my cd’s and what not at no lower than 256 kbps and usually at 320 kbps. call it an issue, but as long as the file size is decent ill try to keep the quality of the file as high as possible. keep in mind we have background music, intro music, and 2 separate (completely separate audio feeds) coming together to 1 mystical show.

  4. I’m using WMP 11, the file size isn’t really a problem, I actually typed all that before I realized how long the show really was.

  5. well, good i guess. basically i think it is because of the way wmp reads files (checks bitrate and then calculates length based on filesize/bitrate), but there is really nothing i can do besides make it a constant bit rate file.

next will ill encode it as a cbr file and try it, who knows… it might work out.

  6. First of all, thank you AcesHigh for your support from the beginning and sticking with us while the show gets better. I hope you’ll agree that this episode was significantly improved in both content and audio quality from our previous episodes. Hopefully we can get you on the show one day!

Secondly, don’t bother with WMP… It looks nice but it is pretty shoddy. WinAMP, on the other hand, is the polar opposite.

Finally, recommend us! I almost soiled myself with joy when I saw all of these comments! Feel free to comment or criticise the content of the show here to… You could even suggest completely random topics, such as peanut butter or the 1930s! That’d be great!

  9. Thanks for all your hospitality Dizzy and Nabo. I was looking into WinAMP, and isn’t that something you have to pay for?

The show in my opinion is already good, but yes I did think that episode 4 was a notch above the others. To be honest i’m very impressed how you and Nabo can do a show together. Both of your opinions are quite different, and I just don’t see how it doesn’t turn into a yelling match between you to.

They only way I can recommend you is to post bulletins on Myspace. I’m not a frequent of many other gaming forums beside VGEvo. While i’m on the subject of VGEvo, may I ask why you stopped posting the ATP show on VGEvo?

  10. I dunno… It just got ignored and in the way. I might start posting it in my blog instead.

    Nope, Winamp is totally free.

  11. not that we stopped, just dizzy wont do it. feel free to do so if you would like.

  12. and i CANT do it because im not allowed to post a link to anything, just uh… capitalize letters i think (yes, my account is THAT restricted, no code what so ever).

  13. Wooow… I didn’t know that…

  14. lol… yeah, a bit excessive dont ya thing. why not just ban me and get it over with instead of putting this facade that i give a damn anymore. UGH, EAST COAST HICKS… i never understand
